To help us recognize ALS awareness month, we are turning to ALS experts from across the nation. Join us as we speak with speech-language pathologist Adina Bradshaw who has 20 years experience in the field of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT).  Adina will help us understand what someone with ALS might expect when being evaluated for AAC supports, discuss application for voice and message banking, and share tips for using computer access to stay connected.

Presenter bio:Adina Bradshaw, MS, CCC-SLP, ATP is a Speech Language Pathologist and Assistive Technology Specialist at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Adina has over 15 years of experience evaluating and implementing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology solutions.Adina’s professional focus is on evaluating, implementing, adapting, and developing solutions to aid individuals in their ability to communicate and complete activities of daily living more effectively.

Amanda Hobar
Amanda is an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist who has evaluated and treated individuals across the lifespan with a wide variety of disorders. Amanda graduated from UCLA with a B.S in Communication Studies. After graduating she provided training to nonprofits and multinational corporations. She decided to attend graduate school after a family member had aphasia. Amanda earned a M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology and has implemented low-tech and high-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) solutions with pediatric and adult populations while working in private practice, K-12 education, and outpatient settings. Prior to joining Tobii Dynavox, Amanda served as the Director of Learning and Development at a private clinic. Amanda is dedicated to evidence-based practice and has contributed to published research and presented on the topics of AAC, dementia, aphasia and multicultural issues in speech-language pathology.
