Description Participants will explore the functional aspects of eye tracking technology and best practices for getting started. A variety of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) language tools for the emergent communicator who uses eye gaze access will be considered. In addition, communication partner strategies to support successful participation and interaction will be discussed. Erica Iffland
Erica is a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and graduate from the University of South Florida. She has treated, assessed and consulted with individuals across the life-span. Erica has worked in early intervention, pre-school groups, out-patient pediatrics, elementary and middle school, as well as adult day program consultation and skilled nursing facility settings.. Through her work, she developed a passion for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and implementation to benefit those with complex communication needs. This led her to Tobii Dynavox’s Learning Services team as a Learning Consultant. In this role, Erica focuses on both the educational and AAC strategies when educating professionals as well as presenting on AAC at local, national, and international conferences.
