Powerful Tools to Grow Language/Adapt Curriculum(Etobicoke,ON)Private

Description

Join us in this workshop as we introduce ideas, curricula and materials that will not only meet the needs of each student but will also make your life easier. In the morning, participants will explore the four implementation pillars for supporting individuals with complex communication and learning needs: education, communication, access, and social/emotional learning, and learn about software solutions and resources available to promote student success.

In the afternoon, participants will explore the functional aspects of eye tracking technology and best practices for getting started. A variety of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) language tools for the emergent communicator who uses eye gaze access will be considered. In addition, communication partner strategies to support successful participation and interaction will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe three resources to support learning, access, communication, and social/emotional development in the classroom or therapy setting.
  • Identify two AAC language options or communication page sets that can be used with eye tracking technology
