Snap Scene: Overview & Activities for All Ages (Chicago, IL)

Description

Snap Scene is a scene-based communication and language learning software that can be utilized across the life span. Snap Scene provides in the moment learning opportunities and turns everyday moments into chances to learn communication naturally. Participants will be provided with an overview of the development and communication targets of Snap Scene, learn the simple steps and tools to create visual scenes on the go, as well as ideas for activities to use and implement the software with a variety of age populations.


Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:

  • Name the three steps to create a scene using Snap Scene
  • Describe five skills that can be taught using Snap Scene to target communication, language, and literacy skills
  • Name one activity that can be implemented for the early, preschool, school age, and adult years using Snap Scene

Program completion requirements: Participants are expected to be present for the entire program. Individuals who are not present for the full program will not be recommended for ASHA CEUs. No partial credit will be provided.

McKenzie Mok
McKenzie Sauser Mok, MA, CCC-SLP graduated from the University of Kansas with a Master's in Speech Language Pathology. She has worked extensively in the area of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) with a wide variety of AAC systems. McKenzie has presented for the Kansas and Illinois Speech Language Hearing Associations, Missouri Assistive Technology, and various AT/AAC conferences. She also participates in ASHA SIG 12 (AAC). McKenzie has worked for Tobii Dynavox as a Solutions Consultant since 2013.
