Description

This course, Neurodiversity-Affirming Support for Autistic AAC Users, will explore key characteristics of autism that may affect AAC use. Participants will learn about communication differences, including multimodal communication and part-time AAC use, regulation needs, and motor planning differences. • Identify two neurodiversity-affirming strategies to support full-time and part-time AAC users.
  • Apply individualized, strengths-based approaches to enhance AAC access and effectiveness for autistic communicators.
