Description With a heightened awareness and sensitivity to the importance of cultural diversity and linguistic competency, you've probably been compelled to evaluate how diversity and representation are acknowledged in classrooms and therapy sessions. This session will focus on key action items to consider when identifying ways to support diversity and cultural representation better when supporting AAC users and their families. Successful completion of this course will satisfy the ASHA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion requirement. Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion, participants will be able to: · List five strategies to support inclusion and representation for symbol-based AAC users. · List four resources available to integrate into therapy and classroom practices to improve inclusion and representation.
