What do I do when after installing the PCEye on my Windows 11 Enterprise PC, my apps won't open?
Troubleshooting: Software Launch Issues After PCEye Installation
If you have recently installed the PCEye bundled software and find that certain applications are no longer opening, it may be due to a missing registry permission. Follow the steps below to verify and resolve this issue.
⚠️ Warning: Registry Modification
Editing the Windows Registry is an advanced task. Incorrect changes can cause your system to become unstable or unresponsive. If you are uncomfortable performing these steps, please contact Technical Support for assistance before proceeding.
Step 1: Verify Registry Permissions
- Press Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
- Type regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
- Navigate to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control - Right-click on the Control folder in the left-hand panel.
- Select Permissions... from the context menu.
- Look for ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES in the "Group or user names" list.
Step 2: Resolve Missing Permissions
- If "ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES" is present: Your registry permissions are correct. The issue may be caused by a different factor; please contact support for further troubleshooting.
- If "ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES" is missing: Proceed to Step 3 to run the recovery script.
Step 3: Run the Recovery Script
- Download the PowerShell script from this link.
- Right-click the script file and select Run with PowerShell.
- Once the script has finished, return to the Registry Editor.
- Click View > Refresh (or press F5) to verify that "ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES" has been restored.
Once these permissions are restored, your software should launch normally. If the problem persists, a system restart is recommended.
