Communicating with Snap Core First

Description

This course reviews the communication tools available in Snap Core First and how to implement them to support positive communication outcomes for students using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) software.

Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:  

•      Name communicative functions beyond requesting

•      Identify communication tools that support interactions beyond requesting

•      List partner communication strategies that support better communication interactions

Participants are expected to be present for the entire session. No partial credit will be provided.

Lisa Geary
Lisa M. Geary, M.S., CCC-SLP has over 25 years’ experience in speech-language therapy, teaching, and supervision. She previously served as Clinical Assistant Professor in a university setting where she taught clinical and didactic courses including the graduate augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) class. Lisa also worked for many years in the public school, private practice, and outpatient rehabilitation settings. Lisa is currently a member of the Tobii Dynavox Learning Team where she develops and conducts trainings for professionals and customers.
