How Do I Fix the Partner Window “Holding Text” Issue that Occurs When Launching TD Snap From a C5 Page Set with a Button Using the “Run Program” Button Action?

Key Factor:What matters is simply how TD Snapis launched from Communicator 5!

The Launch TD Snap button within Communicator 5 needs to be created/edited as follows:
 

  1. Open Communicator 5.
  2. Navigate to the Page Set with the button that is to open TD Snap.
  3. From the C5 Quick Menu, select Edit Page Set.
  4. Select the button that is to open TD Snap.
  5. From the Button pull down menu, select Button Actions.
  6. Select the Desktop tab.
  7. Under Available actions, select Run Program.
  8. Select Add.
  9. Under Select file, type:com.tobiidynavox.snap:
  10. Select. OK.
  11. Under Available actions, select Manage Communicator Window (scroll down a bit in the list).
  12. Select Add.
  13. Under Change window style, select Minimize.
  14. Select OK.
  15. Select OK.
  16. From the File pull down menu, select Save.
  17. From the View pull down menu, select Run.

Select the above edited TD Snap button to open, or – if the TD Snap software is already running – switch to, TD Snap.
 

The Launch Communicator 5 button within TD Snap needs to be created/edited as follows:
 
  1. Open TD Snap.
  2. Navigate to the Page Set with the button that is to open Communicator 5.
  3. At top right, select Settings.
  4. Select the button that is to open Communicator 5.
  5. In the Label box type, Communicator 5.
  6. Under Actions, select Add Action.
  7. Select Launch Application.
  8. Ignore the Communicator 5 item listed in the top row.
  9. Select Browse for application or file.
  10. Using the standard file manager window, navigate to: C:\Program Files  (x86)\Tobii Dynavox\Communicator 5\.
  11. Select Communicator (or Communicator.exe – depending upon how the computer is set to display OS files).
  12. Select Open.
  13. Select Done.

Select the above edited Communicator 5 button to open, or – if the Communicator 5 software is already running – switch to, Communicator 5.
