Why has my power button stopped working after updating Windows 11?
In December of 2024, Microsoft released the Windows 11 24H2 update. This update causes the power button on the TD I-110 to be unable to wake the device from sleep.
Additionally, powering on the TD I-110 becomes difficult regardless of whether you use the power button or a switch. You may need to hold the power button down multiple times for 30 seconds each time in order to get the device to power back on.
We have notified Microsoft of this issue and we are hoping that they can provide a resolution. As of December 11, 2024, the upgrade to 24H2 will not be offered to TD I-110 devices and access to the Media Creation Tool will be blocked by Microsoft until the issue is resolved. If one attempts to upgrade through the Media Creation Tool, you will receive the following message...
What can I do if I Have Already Updated Before December 11, 2024?
You may have the ability to go back to a previous version that works. In order to do this, please follow these steps...
- Open Windows Settings
- Select Systemfrom the menu on the left
- Choose Recoveryfrom the options on the right.
- Choose Go Back and follow the steps on the screen to go back to the previous version.
If Go Back is not an option, you can prevent the device from falling asleep. This change will cause the battery to drain quicker. Nevertheless, here are instructions for preventing sleep.
- Open Windows Settings
- Select Systemfrom the menu on the left
- Choose Power & battery from the menu on the right
- Select Screen, sleep, & hibernate timeouts
- Next to Make my device sleep after, choose Never.
After a fix is released, we recommend turning Sleep back on.
